IRISH WHISKEY

Uisce Beatha- The water of life. The first Irish Whiskey dates back to 500a.d. Irish whiskey is renowned as the smoothest whiskey in the world, largely due to three factors: Irish Whiskey is triple distilled to create a smoother, more pure flavor whereas Scotch Whisky is distilled twice and Bourbon once. Irish Whiskey is produced form malted and unmalted barley dried in a closed kiln, whereas Scotch Whisky is dried by open peat fires giving Scotch the smoky flavor-In contrast, Bourbon’s main ingredient is corn rather than barley. Finally, Irish whiskey is aged in used oak American Bourbon, Spanish Sherry and Madeira Port barrels.
